Theater played an important role in ancient Greece. History of the Greek theatre started with festivals held in honor of their gods honoring their gods. A god, Dionysus, was honored with a festival called by “City Dionysia”.

This workshop takes inspiration from the work of Romuald Hazoumè, a Benin-based artist who creates masks and sculptures from recycling goods.

Children will show off their artistic flare by transforming cast-off milk cartons, tin cans and empty bottles into masks. While they will learn about Greek theatre and the importance of masks.
