This project was sponsored by the Cultural Department of the Spanish Embassy in Vienna. It was inspired by the “Peace and Freedom” exhibition by Pablo Picasso in the Albertina Museum in 2010.

The aim of the project was to encourage the diffusion of Spanish art, history and culture in schools where Spanish is taught.

The first part of the workshop involved an overview of Picasso’s political period through discussions of the paintings featured in the Albertina’s exhibition, with special attention paid to Guernica. Students were then encouraged to create an original piece showing their own political point of view through concepts and ideas in Spanish.
