Yesterday evening, we held our third workshop, Censura Grupal.

The inspiration for this workshop was the Gag Law in Spain, which introduces steep fines for activists who take part in unauthorised protests, publish images of the police or interrupt public events.

Led by our ‘reject’ Daniel Sánchez and textile artist Sarah Knight, we experimented with both censorship and freedom of expression on canvas.

Each one of us created our own colour, which we then used to express ourselves. If someone did not like our ‘art’ it was then covered with black paint, i.e. censored. In order to enjoy freedom of expression, we then designed patterns which were used to paint freely on another canvas.
