The Refugee Week presented a great opportunity for the how refugees are perceived by our societies and to show them as individuals with a rich cultural background.
Patterns and cultures
Ceramics have been part of men’s life since the dawn of civilisation and were used to produce all kinds of objects, which were exchanged along the Silk Route. These objects are nowadays a source of reflection and a testimony to stories, cultures and societies. Through the painting of ceramics, we want to reclaim the patterns and designs of traditional ceramics belonging to refugees’ countries. The objective is to retrace our steps back to the Silk Route philosophy, which was based on societies exchanging ideas and objects.
