Ayer, después de mucho tiempo, volvimos a organizar nuestra visita Mujeres y Cerámica en el Victoria & Albert Museum. Una visita muy especial por muchas razones. Por un lado, es una estupenda oportunidad para descubrir las maravillas que se exhiben en la tan poco visitada sexta planta del V&A. Y por otro, se establece una interacción única entre el espectador y el museo: no solo aprendimos sobre la historia de la cerámica y sus viajes entre oriente y occidente gracias a la ruta de la seda y sobre las diferentes técnicas y clases de cerámica; sino que también nos acercamos a esta antiquísima disciplina desde un punto antropológico. Así, de la mano de la ceramista y antropóloga Verónica Restrepo, descubrimos la estrecha relación que siempre ha existido entre la mujer y la cerámica y cómo esta relación ha ido cambiando en diferentes momentos de la historia y lugares.
Esta primavera, completaremos la visita con un taller práctico de cerámica.

Description
During this visit to the Ceramics Room at the V&A, we had the opportunity to discover the thousands of ceramics that one can find on the V&A top floor. It is a very special visit, because not only we learnt about the history of ceramics, the different types of clay and the various techniques used throughout history; but also, we analysed the role that women have had in the development of ceramics until today.
We will complete this visit with a pottery workshop, during which we will get our hands dirty with some clay while we keep discovering the fascinating relationship between women and ceramics.
